Procedures:

Basic Form 601 Processing/Transmittal

For standard applications with no substantive change other than re-assignment of frequency as provided in the Frequency Plan for each designated Region as approved by the Transition Administrator (TA) and the Licensee:

  •  Receive application by approved electronic means.
  • Conduct basic completeness/conformance screening of application for changes from original license.
  • Transmit application to the FCC via ULS batch file transfer.

APCO Automated Frequency Coordination (AFC) provides spectrum and licensing related services to the public safety field.   AFC is the premier frequency coordinator supporting public safety agency's FCC licensing requirements.  AFC can provide area searches and area intermodulation studies to verify the performance of your re-assignment frequencies.

There are several areas of the Rebanding process that will require services associated with FCC Licensing.  As a licensee, you may need to perform several tasks where AFC can lend a hand.  While the FCC has indicated "frequency coordination will not be required", they did not revoke the underlying steps required to procure a new frequency assignment, asses that assignment, prepare the licensing forms, screen the forms for compliance with FCC standards, and ultimately submit those forms to the FCC.
