800 MHz Rebanding License Freeze
In order to facilitate the reassignment of certain frequencies in 800 MHz band, the FCC has determined
that a phased freeze of applications shall be placed into effect as the 800 MHz Transition Plans progresses.
The FCC will freeze 800 MHz applications for a region when starting when they issue a Public Notice
announcing the date when voluntary negotiation of relocation agreements must be concluded for each of the four Waves. The freeze will last until thirty working
days after the completion of mandatory negotiations for a given Region. Typically, the FCC expects to issue the Public Notice approximately 30 day prior to the date
when voluntary negotiation of relocation formally commences.
The freeze in each of the four Waves will consist of two phases:
- Non-NPSPAC channels affects only the band
segment 806-817 MHz / 851-862 MHz.
- The second is associated with the current NPSPAC band segment
821-824 MHz / 866-869 MHz.
The FCC will not freeze the acceptance of modification applications that do not change the frequency or
expand the coverage area of existing systems. The FCC reminds potentially affected parties of the availability of the Commission’s waiver process
and Special Temporary Authorizations when needed in order to avoid prejudice to any applicant during the band reconfiguration process.
