The 9-1-1/Emerging Technologies Committee’s objectives are:
- Provide subject-matter experts to the International Committee related to 9-1-1 issues

The PBX/MLTS Committee is a sub-committee of the 9-1-1/ Emerging Technologies Committee. The sub-committee’s objectives are to:
- Further the organization-wide awareness of PBX/MLTS issues, legislation and solution
- Achieve national & state legislative awareness of PBX/MLTS issues
- Foster increased public awareness regarding limitations of PBX/MLTS systems when calling 9-1-1
- Support the Corporate Award for Leadership in Locations Solutions (CALLS) Award program
- Coordinate a national approach to FCC requirements for solving PBX/MLTS location issues
- Ensure the efforts of the PBX/MLTS Committee are coordinated when dealing with PBX/MLTS systems that are increasingly becoming VoIP capable

The Telematics Committee’s objectives are:
- Create a list of Telematics Service Providers to ensure effective dissemination of information sharing between APCO International and the provider groups
- Create internal communications processes for information to committee members and commercial/vendor parties

- Create formal location for tlematics information, posting of guidelines, questions (FAQs); establishing a "one-stop-shop” for persons seeking information
- Create a series of white papers for Board of Officers and Executive Council on telematics issues for further consideration.
